Workforce Australia Local Jobs is funded by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. Local Jobs focuses on reskilling, upskilling and employment pathways to assist people to move back into jobs. The Sydney North and West region has a dedicated Employment Facilitator and Support Officer. The Employment Facilitator chairs a Local Jobs and Skills Taskforce and adheres to the Sydney North and West region Local Jobs Plan. Taskforce delegates are members of the local community who have experience in upskilling, reskilling and local economic development. They also connect and collaborate with others to meet local labour market needs. There are various projects funded through a Local Recovery Fund to support projects meet the priorities identified in the Local Jobs Plan.
Eligible participants on a Workforce Australia, ParentsNext, or Transition to Work caseload will be able to participate in activities funded through the Local Recovery Fund. This will count towards their relevant Points Based Activation System to meet their requirements. Contact your local employment services provider for further information.
